Mercenary Kate Daniels knows all too well that magic in post-Shift Atlanta is a dangerous business. But nothing she’s faced could have prepared her for this…
Kate and the former Beast Lord Curran Lennart are finally making their relationship official. But there are some steep obstacles standing in the way of their walk to the altar…
Kate’s father, Roland, has kidnapped the demigod Saiman and is slowly bleeding him dry in his never-ending bid for power. A Witch Oracle has predicted that if Kate marries the man she loves, Atlanta will burn and she will lose him forever. And the only person Kate can ask for help is long dead.
The odds are impossible. The future is grim. But Kate Daniels has never been one to play by the rules…

The Kate Daniels series is one of my absolute favorites. It started out slow for me but sucked me in fairly quickly. The characters always having me grinning.
In Magic Binds, we are preparing for the huge event. I will admit, I was truly surprised at Kate & Curran’s choice for officiant. But I absolutely loved how this person took on the responsibilities of the wedding, not just his job of officiant. It always made for a light-hearted laugh in the middle of the dangerous and life-threatening situations.
There is a prophecy that Kate is keeping to herself that she is trying her damndest to change. All the while, she must prepare for war with her father. Kate kept me guessing. I was totally surprised by her plan of action, but yet, I found the result another cause for snickers. I’m hoping her choice does not come back to haunt her.
I found that there was a lot of Kate & Curran secrets happening in this book. This has always bothered me, despite the necessity. I always just imagine them together with no surprises between them. My hope is now that they are married, they are going to be a little more open with each other and fight the bad guys together as a unit.
Once again, the narration was absolutely amazing. It was 100% worth the wait.
