A Woman on a Mission

Grace Clark has always done things safe. She's never colored outside of the law, but she has a book due and has found the perfect spot to break through her writer's block. Or so she thinks. Right up until Arian suddenly appears and tries to force her away from the mountain. Unaware of the war she just stumbled into, Grace doesn't just discover the perfect place to write, she finds Arian—the most gorgeous, enticing, mysterious man she's ever met.

A King with a Purpose

Arian is a Dragon King who has slept away centuries in his cave. Recently woken, he's about to leave his mountain to join his brethren in a war when he's alerted that someone has crossed onto Dreagan. He's ready to fight . . . until he sees the woman. She's innocent and mortal—and she sets his blood aflame. He recognizes the danger approaching her just as the dragon within him demands he claim her for his own...

The war is progressing and the Kings need all hands on deck. Imagine Arian’s surprise to wake and find his cave inhabited by a woman. Probably the first woman he’s seen in centuries.

Grace has found an awesome, inspiring place to get her writer’s groove back. That is definitely helped along by the gorgeous male that appears in her new little writer’s heaven. The words are flowing like crazy and Arian is definitely great inspiration.

Seeing as how this is a novella, it is not surprising that the romance heats up quick. I had to wonder though, what happens when Arian actually sees another woman? I mean really, he hasn’t seen another in so long. Could this really be his mate?

The Dark Fae make a brief appearance. Enough to enlighten Grace on the paranormal world around her. Her initial shock and the way the ignorant Con (sorry, I’m just really starting to dislike the man) overwhelm Grace and she decides to return to her life. Arian is not going to have any of that. I loved that the other Kings just handed over the keys to an expensive car to someone who’s never seen one before!

Despite Con’s little games, we now have another King mated. I’m so confused on what he’s actually playing at. In Dragon King he kind of has his own little tests and hard to judge actions. He’s going to alienate all of the Kings if he’s not careful.

Dragon King was a great quick dive into the Dark Kings world. There are going to be so many more Kings waking that we’ll need to have these little novellas to get everyone’s story. There is not much progress on the overall storyline and I feel like this could definitely be read as a standalone, although I would say Con’s personality would need some explaining!
