Genres: Paranormal Romance
Tall, lean, muscular—and definitely rough around the edges—Sean Walker is not your typical nightclub bodyguard. He’s a controller of shadows, able to wield darkness at will. But when a mysterious woman at the club turns out to have powers greater than his own, he has no choice but seduction…
It is not a big surprise that I enjoyed this book. I’m a huge Gena Showalter fan, and even though this was not an addition to one of my favorite series, I had to read it.
Being a novella, everything was sped up and cramped into the little bit of space. The action was quick and fast paced as well as the romance. Sean’s abilities were really cool. I must say that Gabby’s abilities kind of freaked me out. Everyone’s computer contains pieces of themselves and I think it would feel really weird to know that someone could completely tap into everything personal on my machine.
The secret agency and all the other side characters kind of give off the feeling that this world could possibly take off into it’s own series, but I have not heard any whispers of that. I guess we shall see. Sean has some great friends and I would love to delve into their stories a bit, so if this turned into something more, I probably would continue on.
