Leila’s years on the carnie circuit were certainly an education. What she didn’t learn: how to be a vampire, or how to be married to the most famous vampire of them all. Adjusting to both has Leila teetering on a knife edge between passion and peril, and now the real danger is about to begin…

Vlad must battle with a centuries-old enemy whose reach stretches across continents and whose strength equals his own. It isn’t like Vlad to feel fear, but he does…for Leila, because his enemy knows she is Vlad’s greatest weakness. As friend and foe alike align against him—and his overprotectiveness drives Leila away—Vlad’s love for his new bride could be the very thing that dooms them both…

Another Vlad book! I can’t begin to tell you how happy I was when this came out. There was none of my “oh, I need to finish this before I can start that”. Oh no, this baby popped up on my Kindle and I was ALL over that.

Vlad has always been that character that was just stoic and cold. The first two books he showed some feelings when it came to Leila, but they were still the rare flashes amidst his dominant side. He loved her, but he had a hard time dealing with it. In Bound By Flames, we get a little more of the reasoning behind his walls and they even start to come down a little more. I think my heart grew a big crack in it during this book as Vlad is forced to deal with his feelings and the destruction to his life. It was really intense and I could hardly put this book down.

Leila goes through a LOT in this book and her experiences are so harsh you have to wonder how she could ever survive. Despite her powers, I hadn’t seen her as a very strong character. Nothing like Cat. But Leila really proves herself to me in this book.

I flew through Bound By Flames and I can not express how excited I am that there will be a book 4. Although, I just can’t imagine what Jeaniene Frost could do to these two that would live up to this book. The action was non-stop and the feels, oh the feels as we see Vlad deal with his worst fears. It was so exciting and fast-paced! Then we have a real twist at the end, that you are just not going to see coming. It was amazing, it truly was. Congratulations Jeaniene Frost on an amazing read!
