From #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole comes The Professional—the first scorching installment in her Game Maker series, an erotica collection that has readers asking: How hot is too hot?

He makes the rules...
Mafiya enforcer Aleksandr "The Siberian" Sevastyan’s loyalty to his boss is unwavering, until he meets the boss’s long-lost daughter, a curvy, tantalizing redhead who haunts his mind and heats his blood like no other. Ordered to protect her, Sevastyan will do anything to possess her as well—on his own wicked terms.

Rules are made to be broken...
PhD student Natalie Porter had barely recovered from her first sight of the breathtakingly gorgeous Sevastyan before the professional hit man whisks her away to Russia, thrusting her into a world of extreme wealth and wanton pleasures. With every day she spends under his protection, she falls deeper under his masterful spell.

Are you ready to play?
Yet all is not as it seems. To remove Natalie from an enemy’s reach, Sevastyan spirits her into hiding. From an opulent palace in Russia to the decadent playgrounds of the mega-wealthy in Paris, the two lovers will discover that even their darkest—and most forbidden—fantasies can come true...

This is part one of a three part serial called The Professional by Kresley Cole.

I loved Natalie.  I thought she was funny, quirky and hardworking.  She takes being kidnapped by a big, sexy Russian practically in stride and even turns it into something interesting and fun.  Sevastyan is very dark and moody.  Perfect for a mafia enforcer and definitely has the issues that come with that status.

I know that a lot of people are saying this book is in the “erotica” genre.  That is what I was expecting when I started it.  I think it more straddled that line without going too far into the lifestyle of BDSM.  When I was reading it, I constantly was brought back to J.R. Ward’s Vishous and his preferences.  That is why I say it straddled the line from sexy into full on erotica.  Maybe Vishous’s book was considered erotica.  I don’t think so though.  I will have to look that up.  Honestly, put in some paranormal, and you have a paranormal romance.  Here I was all nervous thinking this was going to be my first full on erotica.  Maybe I’ve been reading it all along, just without the stigma of the classification.

I have to tell this story, although it has nothing to do with my opinion of the book.  I am having trouble with the audio jack in my car that I plug my phone into so I can listen to my audiobooks.  I found an app that will connect it to my bluetooth in my radio.  I was sitting at a stop light when I started to get very nervous.  If this app is broadcasting to my car, could it be broadcasting to others?  I didn’t read enough on the app to be sure, so as I sat at that stop light and listened to one fun sex scene, I peered around to see if there were any shocked faces in the cars around me.  None of them seemed to be too hot and bothered, so it must work properly, but I was nervous for a bit.  It was quite the hot scene!

I definitely enjoyed The Professional Part 1.  I, like many others, will complain about the ending, but I do have to take into consideration it is part 1.  It kind of stopped abruptly in the middle of a scene though, it could have at least finished at the end of it.  Natalie definitely has a life to fantasize about.  Who wouldn’t want to be abducted by a sexy Russian, spirited away to an amazing palace where you were lavished with gifts and not have to work three jobs?  Hell, count me in!
