Bookish Life Budget ~ January 2018 Update

So is everyone as ready for winter to be over as I am? I’m aching for the warmer temperatures. Those temps that are just right. Not too hot or not too cold. The prime time for walking my pugs who are very intolerant of cold and hot temps. I’d also like to see some green. I’m tired of all this brown. The thing I’m not looking forward to is the tornadoes. I don’t know why my favorite time of year has to coincide with the most dangerous.

I didn’t do any book spending this month, as some of the books I received had been purchased awhile ago. You know those wonderful virtual signed copies I love so much. So the numbers stayed pretty much the same with the exception of my Audible payment.

Category Amount Spent this Month Remaining Balance
B&N Membership Renewal $25.00 $0.00 $25.00
Readers & ‘Ritas 2018 Event Ticket $175.00 $0.00 $175.00
Buns & Roses + Bear $75.00 $0.00 $75.00
Boas & Tiaras $50.00 $0.00 $50.00
Audible Subscription $298.08 $24.84 $273.24
Books (Ebooks, paperbacks & hardcovers) $376.92 $0.00 $376.92
Total: $1000.00 $24.84 $975.16

So I behaved myself pretty well. I think having my new library and not really having it set up the way I want yet keeps me from buying anymore books. However, I still got some goodies in. January was HOT with new releases and new books up for review. Here are the ones that hit my phone, kindle or shelf this month!

Risk, Closer and The Gift were the last of the Mageri series I had left to listen to. I can’t wait to move on to her other series. Oh and if you didn’t pick up Judgment Road, make sure you do. You will love it. Check out my review here. Did you pick up any new books in January? I’m dying to know how Blood Fury and Claimed In Shadows are, so I’ve been checking out reviews on them. I’ve got lots to read in February so I’m hoping I’ll continue to power through what I have. My book haul next month should be nothing but Dannika Dark audios if I don’t get them at the library.

Are there any new releases coming out that you are dying to get your hands on? Was January a good reading month for you?
