So here we are, the end of the first month of 2015. It’s time to check in and see how January affected my Bookish Life Budget!

If you saw my start up post, you’ll have noticed that I added an extra event ticket on here. It is not an event I budgeted for, so I’m not adding it into my allowable expenses for the year. The admission is $35 and hopefully I will make it up in another category. It won’t be the RT Convention category though, as I decided to do the Blogger Symposium being held at RT15 and that was an additional $30. So here it is only the end of January and I know I’m going in the hole in 2 categories. This will definitely put a strain on the books category as I try to make up the cost.
My book spending for the month really surprised me as I thought I had done well with great sales. I think the problem is that in my mind, I’m hearing Sale! Sale ! Sale! and then I grab more than is really necessary. Just like I got this week’s B&N coupon and I know I should just delete it from my email, but I can’t bring myself to do it quite yet. There was also the Virtual Signing for J.R. Ward’s The Shadows, and I always get those when they are available. The book budget is dwindling fast. I think I need to get a grip on that one!
How was your spending this month? Was it a crazy book month for you?
