Bookish Life Budget 2021
Oh my poor, poor budget. It is taking a serious beating. This month it wasn’t physical or ebooks, but just the insane amount of audiobooks I listened to. Plus, there was a virtual signing for J.R. Ward’s The Wolf. So that took up the biggest chunk of what I spent under books this month. I need to find a solution for the audiobooks. My local library has nothing. I was a member of a state-wide library, but something must have changed with it because I can’t get in. Then all the surrounding libraries cost a yearly fee. The yearly fee is probably a lot less than what I’m paying for books now, but I don’t like not having all the books of a series readily available to me. I need a library with a great inventory. I can, I guess, find some good podcasts and books in the Plus catalog. I am just going to have to prioritize the audiobook thing. Anyway, below is my embarrassing total for the month. The killer is that it is going to keep getting worse.

Category Amount Spent this Month Remaining Balance
B&N Membership Renewal $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
Audible Subscription $114.52 $24.38 $90.14
Books (Ebooks, paperbacks & hardcovers) $-84.02 $97.07 $-181.09
Total: $30.50 $121.45 $-91.20

Yes, the Suzanne Wright obsession continues. I am listening to the last book in the Mercury Pack series right now. I’m debating trying the Dark In You series, but I do have a few audiobooks I haven’t listened to in my library so I might do those first. The biggest problem with them is that they are first books in a series, so once I start the one in my library, I’m likely going to go down the rabbit hole. I get more credits next weekend, so I’m kind of hanging on until then. Below are the additions to my shelf this month, and let me tell you, I don’t think even one was disappointing. Well, except for the ending in one of them, but my lips are sealed. You’ll just have to give them all a try!

How was your September? Everyone getting settled into their routines since school has started and all that? It is my husband’s 50th birthday this month so we are going to take a little long weekend vacation. I’m excited. We haven’t gone anywhere without kids in almost 30 years. Isn’t that ridiculous? This will definitely be a treat.

Have any of you read Suzanne Wright? What did you think of her books? Especially the Dark in You series which is my next choice. I actually think that is the last of her series that I haven’t read. I’m excited to read about different paranormals.
