July was a good month for the budget. I used nothing but a couple of Audible credits. I’m in the “Saving for NOLA Storycon” mode. I’ve been disappointed to see some of the authors I wanted to see were no longer going to be attending. It’s NOLA though, I’m sure we’ll still have fun! Below is how my numbers were this month:

Category Previous Balance Spent This Month Remaining Balance
Barnes & Noble $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
NOLA Story Con $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
Buns & Roses (w/Bear) $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
Boas & Tiaras $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
Readers & Ritas $180.37 $0.00 $180.37
Audible $149.07 $24.84 $124.23
Books $591.32 $0.00 $591.32
Totals Starting Budget Amount Spent Remaining Budget
$913.09 $24.84 $888.25

This month I received five review books and used 2 Audible credits.

Isn’t that a great lineup?! Some really awesome books have come out the last couple of weeks. I’m surprised my haul wasn’t bigger than that!

July has been getting hotter and hotter here in Texas. You get hit in the face with it as soon as you open a door. Pugs are not good in the heat, probably even worse when they are all overweight like mine, so going for walks is out. Spousal unit has to work outside in this. He has to also wear FR (fire retardant I think) clothes all day. Means long sleeves and pants and top heavy as hell. Not much fun when you have to do that for 70 hours a week.

I think that the May Clean Sweep may have jump started my leap from the depths of reading slump hell. Either that or I’ve got some great books going on! I have been doing some products for my Etsy store. I’m running low on ideas and haven’t had a chance to hit Pinterest yet. What kind of bookish or planner things do you typically buy from Etsy? Even better, for those that do use paper planners, what style do you use? That info would help get the creative juices flowing! Hop over to the store and see if there is anything you like and have suggestions!

I’ll be going out of town next weekend with a friend to sell some goods in Tulsa at the Walker Stalker con. I’m bringing some of my son’s store items to see if I can get a few sold for him. I don’t think anything I have would fit the theme of the con. So I won’t be around much next weekend.

I’m still working on my goal of visiting other blogs and haven’t quite got it consistent yet. So if you are here, and I haven’t left a comment on any of your posts, please feel free to leave your link in the comments and I’ll swing by!

How was everyone else’s July? Did the heat melt you into a puddle? Do you have some great books you’ve gotten over the month?
