Bookish Life Budget ~ January 2019 Update

Posted February 6, 2019 by Tanya in Book Haul, Budget / 0 Comments

So it has only been a couple of days since I posted my goals for the year. January went by pretty quick and I did not shake up my budget yet. It is going to be basically the same except for my Audible subscription. I’m thinking about putting that on pause for a month because I’ve built up a lot of credits, but also have a whole list of books I’ve already purchased that I haven’t listened to yet. I’ve also thought about lowering my subscription to 1 credit a month, but then they don’t let you go over 6 credits, so I still have to use up a bunch. I think I’m going to have to decide on my next series quickly and just pick up all the installments. The trouble is deciding on what to listen to next! I am open to whatever suggestions you may have!

So January’s update isn’t anything shocking. Just the basic necessities!

Category Amount Spent this Month Remaining Balance
B&N Membership Renewal $25.00 $0.00 $25.00
Readers & ‘Ritas 2019 Event Ticket $231.62 $0.00 $231.62
Buns & Roses + Bear $75.00 $0.00 $75.00
Boas & Tiaras $50.00 $0.00 $50.00
Audible Subscription $292.56 $24.38 $268.18
Books (Ebooks, paperbacks & hardcovers) $320.82 $0.00 $320.82
Total: $1000.00 $24.38 $975.62

My book haul was pretty tiny this month too. I did get Summoned To the Thirteenth Grave in both VS copy as well as audio. My collection of signed Charley Davidson is complete! Keep an eye out for my review on that one. I’m still processing and haven’t really figured out my feelings on the ending.

Pretty small book haul for the month, but I really have a lot of catching up to do on the TBR. I’ve got to get my reading mojo back. I feel like my days fully revolve around eating, sleeping and work. I haven’t been giving myself any time to do what I enjoy. Hopefully that will all change this year.

January went by fast, did you all have a good one? Any good reads that you just HAVE to share? I’m definitely looking for something good in audio I can spend some Audible credits on, so suggestions are really appreciated! I hope everyone has a great February!
