I can’t believe this is so late. This is just testament to how far removed from everything I’ve been. This pandemic has truly affected my mindset and I’m struggling more and more every day to try and continue my hobbies. It’s certainly difficult and I’m hoping everyone is having an easier time of it. Even Animal Crossing is failing to keep me occupied. At some point my brain has to adjust to this new normal.

One of the cons I had budgeted for, decided to do a virtual event. I have already moved that budget to books, and I’m not really sure about doing the virtual events that are planned. I would really like to get the bear I get every year. There is still time, the con isn’t until October, so I have some time to think about it. Pretty crazy that I’m thinking of signing up for a con just to get the yearly bear! 🙂

I have also reached my limit of Audible credits. I’m going to see if I can pause my membership again. I already have a big TBR of audios to listen to so I want to save my credits. Hopefully I’ll save some of my budget from doing that. My August budget looked like this.

Category Amount Spent this Month Remaining Balance
B&N Membership Renewal $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
Readers & ‘Ritas 2020 Event Ticket $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
Buns & Roses + Bear $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
Boas & Tiaras $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
Audible Subscription $121.90 $24.38 $97.52
Books (Ebooks, paperbacks & hardcovers) $709.70 $57.56 $652.14
Total: $831.60 $81.94 $749.66

I didn’t take anymore ebook ARCs this month. Just a few audio. The physical books I got for my collection. Some exciting news is that we are redoing my library and we are having floor to ceiling shelves built where I currently have regular bookshelves. I’m excited. I have been struggling with room for awhile now and this should give me a lot more room. Hopefully next month I’ll be able to share pictures!

Emerald Blaze Lost Talismans and a Tequila
Warping Minds & Other Misdemeanors Claiming Her Mates Book 2 Dia Cole
Sucker Punch Laurell K Hamilton The Jackal J.R. Ward

The Jackal was my virtual signed copy and I got Sucker Punch to go with my Anita Blake collection. September is likely going to see a sharp increase in books. There were releases I didn’t get the ebooks for so I will definitely be picking them up. I kind of feel bad that I didn’t just preorder them. I know that affects the authors numbers, but I knew if they were on my kindle they may get lost and I wanted to download them as I am ready to read them.

Let me know how you are doing during this pandemic. Are you getting as much reading done? Do you find you are having emotional issues? I am really going to have to find a way to get some sort of schedule to at least get myself a little organized and involved in things.

I can’t wait to show pictures of my new library. I hope they are done in time for my next update! Have a great September and bring on Fall! Oh, and there is no shame is putting up those Halloween decorations early. Mine are out!
