As usual I am late posting this. I considered just waiting until the end of February and doing a combined post, but my book hauls in each month were enough that I didn’t want to combine them.

I’m starting out 2022 with a book budget of $1300 which will include my Barnes and Noble membership, my Audible subscription and any books (physical or ebook) that I buy. Once again I haven’t found any conventions to add to my budget. I’m really hoping they all start up again soon. I really miss getting to meet up with authors and other readers. Please, if you know of any book conventions going on near you, drop links in the comments so I can check them out. If they are close enough, I may have to add them to my list for the year!

Audiobooks seem to be my best way to get any reading done lately, but my ebooks have picked up from what they were. I’m trying to get at least a few chapters in every day. There were some great books released in January and I really hope you were able to grab at least one, if not all. I’m trying to combine reviews of some of the books I didn’t get to last year with some more current books. I just can’t stand not having everything I’ve read in my archives reviewed here, even though it is recorded at Goodreads.

Below is a breakdown of January’s expenses this month. I’m disappointed that it was so much this month because I know next month is going to be a doozy. These damn virtual signings get me every time.

Category Amount Spent this Month Remaining Balance
B&N Membership Renewal $25.00 $0.00 $25.00
Audible Subscription $292.56 $24.38 $268.18
Books (Ebooks, paperbacks & hardcovers) $982.44 $36.69 $945.75
Total: $1300.00 $61.07 $1238.93

Below is January’s book haul. Lots of audiobooks coming in as I’ve been going through them quite fast. Dragon Unbound I got in both physical and audiobook. The physical I got off of Donna Grant’s website, signed. You know I love those. I got to a point this month where I didn’t want to use credits so I was listening to books in my library that I hadn’t gotten to yet. One of those happened to be an MC romance. So. It has been a very long time since I read anything not paranormal or urban fantasy. Of course once I started the series, I had to continue. I will let you know how it goes.

Did everyone’s year start out good? Get any good reads? I’m getting low on the audiobook ideas so if you know of any great listens (preferably paranormal) drop them in the comments! I’m having a hard time finding what I’m in the mood to listen to. The narrators I have been listening to don’t really do it for me, so I’m open to trying some new ones, or even new stories with my favorites!
