February brought about some changes that affected my budget. I know it was my intention to stay close to home and not do any out of town conventions this year, but an opportunity came up and I snatched it. I am going to be going to Literary Love Savannah in July this year. To do so and stay somewhat within budget, I decided to eliminate the Readers and ‘Ritas and Boas & Tiaras events from my budget so I could take the combined amounts from them and put the money towards LLS. I missed both of those events last year as well, so I’m not too worried yet about missing them this year. The regret may show up later when I see their author guest lists!
Literary Love Savannah is shaping up into one amazing event and I’m so excited to be going. Hopefully I’ll be posting some author spotlights for some of those authors that are attending. I think some of the other bloggers are putting something together.
Below is the breakdown of the budget as it appears now. I’m kind of freaking out a little because I don’t feel like I have enough cushion in the budget. I’m really going to have to behave when it comes to signing up for con events (which will come from my budget) and book buying.

I had a visit with a Half Price Books store and ended up with a few books for my shelves. I also grabbed a few review titles. My reading is still in slo-mo due to the Netflix addiction. I’m trying really hard to figure out a way to just stay away from the tv. I have all these great books on my TBR waiting to be read and I’m being sucked into Netflix. I have yet to find my middle ground. Anyway, we have added the following to our shelves in February.
I feel like I’m really on a roll with my audiobooks lately. When I look at how long it is taking me per book, it seems to be my usual length of time, but maybe because the listens have been SO good that they seem to be flying by. I’m on a Dannika Dark binge and I am loving every minute of it. I think when I finish the Seven series, I may find myself in a bit of a book hangover. I won’t know what to listen to next! This author has definitely made my list of favorites!
February was dreary and full of rain here. I have to say, I’m glad it’s over. I’ve been working on a few things for my Etsy store. Trying to stay reader oriented so trying to find some designs. Also, for my birthday I was given the equipment I needed to do sublimation work. I had to get some blank materials to work on, but hopefully I’ll have some fun sublimated stuff on the store soon. It’s just a different way of applying pictures, etc. to cups and other things. I’ve got some mousepads and 15oz mugs I’m working on right now. I’m finding creativity and design time a challenge. We also need to reorganize the craft room. We’re getting pretty crowded in there!
So how was your February? Did you do anything fun, read any great books or get some interesting things?
