Sexy, powerful, and immortal, Limos is on a crash course with destiny. She’s been marked as Satan’s bride and her jealous fiancé wants her all to himself. The only way this Horseman can keep herself—and everyone else—safe is to keep her distance. But not even Limos can save herself from the secrets she’s kept . . . or resist the seductive allure of one very brave human.
Arik Wagner knows the saying “love hurts” better than most, yet he never thought stealing a kiss from Limos would land him in Hell. Literally. It takes all his military training to survive the demon torture, but once he’s topside, Arik realizes that the agony has just begun. With the Apocalypse looming and Satan demanding his bride, will Arik and Limos surrender to the desire smoldering between them? Or will giving in to their passion unleash hell on earth?
I have loved Limos right from book 1. She is outrageous, flamboyant and just a lot of fun. However, deep down she is holding a lot of secrets. Problem is, she has changed so much since she first left Hell. She loves her brothers and the life they have. She wants normalcy, and unfortunately she gives into that with a kiss from Arik. That kiss lands Arik in a heap of trouble with Limos’s fiance and he is stuck paying the price. Everyone is working to find him and release him.
Arik is one strong S.O.B. He goes through a lot, but he keeps his mind on Limos’s last words and refuses to give in. Whether he is doing it to protect Limos, or to keep them from finding him useless and just ending him, Arik fights to the end.
I think the characters have a common thread going on in this series (as it spins off from the Demonica series). The characters all take their turns at being mean to try and save or deter their mates from being with them. I’m not really fond of that. I’m a softie and I really hate the whole bully thing. However, because Limos is one of my favorite characters, and her act didn’t hold much water, I was able to forgive her pretty quick.
The excitement and pace of Immortal Rider was high and intense. I mean, look who Limos’s fiance is, that alone is going to cause some true chaos! Not to mention we still have Pestilence in the way and he is truly enjoying torturing Limos. He is going to do what he can to damage the Horsemen’s relationships with each other. After losing Reseph, will Ares and Thanatos be able to get over Limos’s past?
The narration was really well done and Hillary Huber is one of my favorite narrators for this series. It is hard where they change so often. But this narrator and the story kept me glued to my headphones. Absolutely loved it. It would have been a five star but I’m still holding that act Limos pulled to get Arik away from her against her. 🙂
