One terrifying premonition brings them together. Another will threaten their future.
Do dreams come true? Dr. Daniel Woodruff hopes they don’t, because his dreams predict a devastating future for him, for those he loves—and for the planet.
His latest premonition, which blows a huge crater in his eroding sanity, holds a singular horror—the loss of a wife and unborn child. Yet another reason he can let no one into his chaotic life, least of all a perky, persistent investigative reporter he finds simultaneously frustrating and fascinating.
Mel Noblett leaves no stone unturned in her one-woman crusade to save the environment. When a whistleblower in Italy proves too frightened to talk, Mel turns to a fall-back lead, an extremely eccentric, beekeeping professor who might just make the trip worthwhile.
Despite their instant attraction, Mel is relieved when Daniel keeps her at arm’s length. After all, she has a secret of her own—one that makes her preternaturally good at her job. And, when Daniel’s terrifying visions prove uncannily accurate and begin to revolve around Mel—it is a gift that could put her life in danger.
Warning: Reluctant seer of a bleak future meets petite force of nature who lights up the heart of his darkness. Where there’s smoke, there could be an unpredictable blaze of passion, but the rewards are oh, so sweet…
I am getting more and more into this series as I read. I enjoyed Grace & Nick’s story, especially the ending, but Daniel & Mel’s was so romantic! Maybe because I’m a sucker for Italy and all the history and romance that surrounds it.
I felt so BAD for Daniel and his “gift” if you could call it that. He suffered so much I just wanted him to be able to relax and enjoy his time with Mel, but that fear of what just even the smallest of touches would do kept him so wound up! Instead, he continually tries to hide it and drive away any contact, but Mel is stubborn!
I loved Mel! She was just so carefree and fun! All that probably stemmed from her upbringing, which she keeps pretty private as well. It was frustrating seeing how much Daniel and Mel had in common but yet kept from each other. Oh you know, that pesky trust thing. It takes some pretty dangerous situations before they can finally break down that wall and trust each other enough to actually work together.
The ending…. so awesome! I don’t cry often, but I did here. Donna June Cooper knows how to write an ending. It was so sweet! The mountain will call to you too! To make it even easier for you to answer that call, from December 1 – 15th, Mostly Magic will be on sale at Amazon for $0.99! The next book in the series is releasing the end of January, so this is the perfect opportunity to catch up! Keep an eye on your other favorite retailers as Mostly Magic will be popping up on sale there as well!
