Paranormal private eye. Grim reaper extraordinaire. Whatever. Charley Davidson is back! And she's drinking copious amounts of caffeine to stay awake because every time she closes her eyes she sees him: Reyes Farrow, the part-human, part-supermodel son of Satan.

Granted she did imprison Reyes for all eternity, but how is she supposed to solve a missing-persons case, deal with an ego-driven doctor, calm her curmudgeonly dad, and take on a motorcycle gang hell-bent on murder when the devil's son just won't give up on his plan of seduction..... and revenge?

Charley is in a pretty bad way, she can’t sleep. Whenever she does, Reyes is there. A very unhappy Reyes. So to keep him away, Charley has resorted to drinking an unimaginable amount of coffee and has not slept in two weeks. I know she is the Grim Reaper and all, but damn, I don’t think coffee would help after awhile!

“Have you slept yet?’
‘Sure. I took a power nap on the way over.’
‘Didn’t you drive there?’
‘Yeah. Other drviers kept waking me up. Car horns should be illegal.’
– Charley & Cookie”
― Darynda Jones, Third Grave Dead Ahead

Charley again is pulled in all directions which makes for a crazy, hectic ride. She needs to find a missing woman, find a missing supposedly dead father, deal with her own father’s problems with her job, and it just goes on until it spirals completely out of control at the end.

This series continues to get better and better and I just can’t seem to read them fast enough!
