Charley sees dead people. That’s right, she sees dead people. And it’s her job to convince them to “go into the light.” But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she’s been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.
Such a great introduction into the world of the Grim Reaper. Charlie is a little ADHD, so she is hard to follow at first, but once you get onto the track that her mind runs on, it is an amazing ride. Charlie can see ghosts and they are pretty much everywhere. She is called into help her Uncle Bob on murder cases, and in book one, it is the murder of three lawyers. On a side note, she also is tracking down the entity that is taking over her dreams. Such sweet dreams, but if the government has their way, the count down to the end of those dreams is coming closer. I am glad that I had the next book readily available. It was like a huge cliffhanger, but enough that I wanted to get my hands on the next book, like NOW.
I thought the narration of this book was very well done. I loved the way Charley and the other characters were portrayed and at times was so wrapped up in the story, I didn’t even realize it was a woman doing a man’s voice. It was great.
Also, the little captions at the beginning of the chapters are fun. I really looked forward to them. If you haven’t tried this series yet, you really need to. It is fun, sexy, thrilling and all that good stuff. Go. Now. Get this book!
