Anahrod has been in hiding for years from things that happened in her past. She winds up being saved by a ragtag group and now has to organize a heist from a dragon’s hoard. With everyone out to get her, Anahrod has to figure out how to somehow survive and steal from a dragon.
Overall, this fell a bit flat for me, I could not really connect with any of the characters. The story itself hopped around from one thing to another quite quickly and it just did not flow well in my head. I did enjoy the ending though, it picked up some speed and I thought that was good. This is a very interesting premise, I do think a lot of people will enjoy this book, it just was not quite right for me. I would recommend this if you are a fan of high fantasy books with dragons and a lot going on.
I have been a fan of Lauren Fortgang’s narration for a long time now. I thought she did a fantastic job at the narration and kept me engaged with the story.
