January flew by for me. One of my goals for the year is to nail down my time management. As the amount of posts for the month of January shows, I haven’t been doing a very good job of it. I’ve really been looking hard at my habits and how I can get more time out of the day for all that I want to accomplish. I seem to put everything off through the week and then try to squeeze everything in on the weekends. This stresses me out because the weekend to-do list gets overwhelming and then I accomplish very little. This is my big goal for the year so hopefully you’ll see more coming from me soon. I just need to break through my block.
So I’m pretty late getting my goals out. I had a really hard time deciding on what I wanted to allot my finances too this year. This year will be pretty con light, so I am keeping my budget to only including close to home events, even if I’m not sure about them yet. Authors haven’t been announced on some yet. The amount I wanted to give to books also took a lot of thinking. I actually already did some purchasing in January and that made me a little worried about not putting enough in that category to last me the year. I did pad the book budget a little to give myself some room to by more books this year. Not like I need to, I don’t really have the space, but I just can’t help it. There are some releases I just need to have the hard covers for. So below is my starting amounts as well as the January spending.

The book haul this month was pretty extensive. I was hoping to get the final two books I needed in Dannika Dark’s Crossbreed series for Christmas. I love the covers and really wanted the physical copies. So I did have to grab them myself to finish off my collection. Book Outlet also had a coupon and I found some books that I haven’t picked up yet so I jumped on that. Besides review books, the next big addition to the haul is my binge of the Dragon Kin series by G.A. Aiken. You’ll probably be inundated with Dragon Kin reviews for a little while! Let’s get started!
It was an exciting haul with lots of audios to listen to. I seem to be getting more listening done than book reading. Hopefully that is going to change in the upcoming months.
How is the first of 2020 going for you? Did you make resolutions and are still going strong with them?
