November was the month of thanks and we had a lot to be thankful for this year. We had a lot of family trials but have we’ve gotten through them and have gained a greater appreciation for what we have. It was tough to at first to find things to be thankful for since 2019 seemed so rough. But when you look at things in an alternative way, you see the good that has come out of those situations and am thankful we’ve learned from them.
I really needed the Thanksgiving long weekend. I had intentions of getting so much done, but I feel like the weekend went by and I was scrambling on Sunday to get everything done. I haven’t done any advertising but I’ve got a few holiday orders I need to get done. It’s hard when I’ve felt really unmotivated. I’m having a hard time getting much of anything accomplished. Maybe 2020 will get my butt in gear.
Despite my procrastinating and reading slump, I was able to accomplish both of my reading challenges for the year. I thought it was interesting that my GR challenge was 75 books, and I ended up with over 45 of them being audiobooks. I’m not sure if I should be excited about that or disappointed in myself for not getting more ebooks read. I’m behind in my book club books and I’m hoping I’ll get them read over the Christmas holiday. It’s been disappointing that I’m not keeping up.
My budget is looking pretty good. I didn’t buy any books this month and since I did put my Audible account to sleep for a few months so I may have a little extra floating around in there. I’m debating making December a big book buying month to use up the remainder. For some reason family members do not buy the physical books on my wishlist so I figure I’ll have to buy them myself!

This month’s book haul pretty much consists of audiobooks. I’ve started G.A. Aiken’s Dragon Kin series. I’m a little confused on the starting order where there are some name changes and Dragon Actually has a novella at the end with Fargus’s parent’s love story. Feels backwards to me, but I’m sure the farther into the series I go, all the storylines will fall into place.
How did everyone spend their Thanksgiving weekend? Do you do something with family or just chill? What reading did you do in November?
