I found this tag on Angel’s Guilty Pleasures, who found it on Chapter Break, who found it on Hot Listens and Books and Things.

Have you always listened to audiobooks or when did you begin?
No, I haven’t always listened to audiobooks. I started a few years ago. There were a lot of people recommending audiobooks and I thought they would be a good thing for my commute. I was a little apprehensive at first, but I trusted the people who gave me recommendations on narrators in my favorite genres. They were so right! I can’t stand driving in the car without listening to a book now. Even if it means I refuse to share the commute with others!

What is your favorite audiobook?
I have so many favorites! All of Dannika Dark’s books narrated by Nicole Poole are at the top of the list. Also Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series, Jennifer Ashley’s Shifter’s Unbound series and Darynda Jones’ Charley Davidson series.

What is my least favorite thing about audiobooks?
I would say my least favorite thing about audiobooks is when they switch narrators during a series. It drives me nuts as I get used to listening to the characters with one voice then have to get used to the characters voices again with every book.

What do you think is the difference in experience between physically reading a book and listening to it?
I think the main difference, for me is the way I interpret the intention of some of the narrative. Something that I might find slightly amusing in an ebook might be downright hilarious in an audiobook. Just the way the narrator puts in that extra attitude or the way the lines are read gives the passage an extra little something that increases the emotion evoked. That’s kind of hard to explain, but I have noticed when I’ve switched in a series from one format to the other that I will find more emotion from an audiobook than I had from the ebooks.

How and when do you listen?
I unfortunately there are only two occasions when I get to listen. One is my commute. I have a little over an hour each way to and from work. That is when I get most of my listening done. I also listen when I get on the treadmill, which is much less than I should. I listen using apps on my phone. I have an Audible account and I also use the Smart Audiobook app for my review audios.

What style/genre do you prefer?
I listen to Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy. I have also tried some erotica and contemporary. I thought the erotica was going to be really weird in audio, but it wasn’t. I just had to be sure my book did not start playing automatically when in the car! As for style, I prefer a single narrator. I have listened to duets, and they were a little difficult for me. I can’t imagine a full cast.

What are some audiobook/narrator recommendations?
Nicole Poole (Mageri, Seven, Crossbreed series)
Justine Eyre (Guild Hunter, Alien Huntress, Deep In Your Veins)
Hillary Huber (Demonica/Lords of Deliverance, Midnight Breed, Firefighters)
Renee Raudman (Kate Daniels, Hidden Legacy)
Lorelei King (Charley Davidson, Stephanie Plum, Mercy Thompson)
Jim Frangione (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Shadow Rider, Torpedo Ink, Black Dagger Legacy)
Robert Petkoff (Immortals After Dark)
Tavia Gilbert (Night Huntress, Night Prince, Night Rebel)
Charlotte Kane (Pride, Honey Badger Chronicles)
Cris Dukehart (Shifters Unbound, The Guild Codex: Spellbound, Legion of Angels)

That’s the Audiobook Tag! What would you answer? Do you have favorite audiobooks or narrators you’d like to share? I’m always looking for new listens!
