Merry Christmas everyone! I wanted to jump in with a Christmas book tag to celebrate the holiday. There were many to choose from and I just couldn’t do them all, so I chose the Joy of Christmas which I found at Angel’s Guilty Pleasures. Angela found it at Tea and Biscuits and she found it originally at Zezee Books. I’m going to keep my answers to a minimum because I’m sure I could go on and on and make this the longest post ever.
ANTICIPATION: The Christmas excitement is real; What book release(s) are you most anticipating?
CHRISTMAS SONGS & CAROLS: What book or author can you not help but sing it’s praises?
This is a tough one for me, there are so many authors and books that I praise to anyone who will listen. After my audio binge this past year, I’m going to pick Dannika Dark for this one. I listened to her Seven, Mageri & Crossbreed series with Nicole Poole as the narrator and OMG they were amazing! The stories and the narration together combined to make my binge so enjoyable.
GINGERBREAD HOUSES: What book or series has wonderful world building?
I truly enjoy dragons, and the world that Donna Grant has built with them is a lot of fun. The setting is a dream of Ireland and Scotland while the story of the dragons will have your hearts breaking for what they went through.
A CHRISTMAS CAROL: Favorite classic or one that you want to read.
I totally agree with Angela’s pick of Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice. I’ve wanted to read that forever. One of these days I’m going to take the time to dive into it.
CHRISTMAS SWEETS: What book would you love to receive for Christmas?
While I would enjoy ANY of the books on my wishlists that I haven’t read, what I really want is the paperbacks of the Crossbreed series by Dannika Dark. Not only are they beautiful covers, but the author does all the artwork on the covers herself and that just makes them even more special.
CANDLES IN THE WINDOW: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling?
This one is tough. I don’t read a lot of books that are warm and fuzzy. Most of them have the warm and fuzzy endings, but I think the book this year that came close to having me feel all gooey was Ocean Light by Nalini Singh.
CHRISTMAS TREES & DECORATIONS: What are some of your favorite book covers?
It seems like some authors just know how to pick great covers. For instance, Patricia Briggs has an amazing cover artist. I love almost every one of hers. Dannika Dark also does a great job on hers. Out of everything I’ve read this year, these are my favorite.
CHRISTMAS JOY: What are some of your favorite things about Christmas and/or some of your favorite Christmas memories?
One of my favorite Christmas memories is Christmas dinner at my grandparents house. My grandparents always had those popper things with the little toy and crown in them. I’m not sure what they were called. All of us kids would have a blast making the POP and seeing what we got for a little toy. I loved that my grandfather always wore the paper crown he got in his. We have some great pictures with him wearing it.
Today we will be spending our Christmas dinner at my brother’s house. They had a baby a couple of weeks ago, but the inlaws are there and will be handling dinner, as well as my mom will be bringing along some dishes. It is going to be a cheat day off keto for me and I’m actually going to enjoy mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing. I was kind of also hoping for a Dominos Extravagazza deep dish as I have been craving pizza like crazy!
For every one of you, I hope your day is blessed with love and joy. Have a Merry Christmas!
