Bookish Life Budget ~ March 2018 Update

March was a pretty good month when it came to spending. I was able to keep my money in my pocket with the exception of my Audible payment. This is truly remarkable because now that I have my shelves arranged, I feel like I have room for more books and am incredibly tempted to go buy some to fill in the little spaces I have. Is hoarding an addiction? Am I a hoarder or just addicted to having lots of books. Not sure which label to put on it. I didn’t include it in my budget, but now that I think about it, it should have been. I purchased the t-shirt and hoodie for Literary Lovers Savannah. That probably should have come out of the budget, but I’ve done the numbers and I don’t want to mess with them now. Normally I don’t include things I buy when I’m AT a con, so I will just put them in that category. So, this month’s numbers are pretty boring. Not much going on there, which is a good thing since I’m still concerned about staying in budget this year.

Category Amount Spent this Month Remaining Balance
B&N Membership Renewal $25.00 $0.00 $0.00
Buns & Roses + Bear $75.00 $0.00 $75.00
Literary Love Savannah $225.00 $0.00 $2.46
Audible Subscription $248.40 $24.84 $223.56
Books (Ebooks, paperbacks & hardcovers) $313.15 $0.00 $313.15
Total: $639.01 $24.84 $614.17

Despite the lack of spending in my book category, I did bring in some really great review books. Four Days wasn’t a review book, it was an Audible credit grab as I’m still binge reading Dannika Dark’s books. I think this is the last series and I’m going to be very said when I have to start waiting on books! This is what came through my door this week:

I felt like March went by really fast. It was pretty wet but we had some really nice weather days. Still not flip flop weather, but definitely getting there. Which means I will soon need to get these tootsies ready for those flip flops! The list of home projects has started and we’ll soon be digging into that. I got our lawn maintenance scheduled and checked all the sprinklers, so the basics are ready to go. So what have you started so far in getting ready for spring? Do you have any big household projects you want to start?
