Happy February everyone! This is mine and my son’s birthday month! I need to get some books put on my wish list before everyone decides on their gifts. January flew by. I tried to get back on track with my blogging and reading. Some things went better than others. I really hope everyone stays with me during this slow time.
This is the first update of 2021. I noticed that I forgot to put my actual budget plan in my starting post. What was I thinking?! You will see it here. I was left with quite a bit last December so even though I cut down on my categories, I left my book budget fairly large. A girl’s gotta have some fun during a pandemic, right? January I did a pretty good haul, mainly because I rediscovered Book Outlet. I think I grabbed all the ones I really wanted from there. That was kinda why I lost touch with that store. I had pretty much gotten everything I could have wanted from them and there just wasn’t a great influx of stock for what I was looking for. Anyway, that is kind of why my spending in the book category is kind of bigger than it normally is.
Category | Amount | Spent this Month | Remaining Balance |

Audible Subscription | $292.56 | $24.38 | $268.18 |
Books (Ebooks, paperbacks & hardcovers) | $682.44 | $114.86 | $567.58 |
Total: | $1000.00 | $139.24 | $860.76 |
My book haul this month was kind of half and half audio and physical. Also, I bought the Fall of Night by Lara Adrian in both ebook and physical. So there is one ebook in there. I decided to try some of Milly Taiden’s audios. What I didn’t do was read book descriptions. I see that these are mostly reverse harem. These will be my first, as I’ve kind of been avoiding them thinking they were a lot like love triangles and I was going to end up falling for specific male characters, then getting angry if he doesn’t have enough page time. We will see though, and I hope audio works out for me in this category. Below is what hit my shelves in January.
It’s almost been a year since the world went to hell with a pandemic. What has been the biggest change in your life and how are you handling it? I find my anxiety has skyrocketed and I’m terrified of leaving my house. Despite not leaving my house, I have yet to break my reading and blogging slumps. I have found some YouTubers I like and have been watching a lot of that and playing Animal Crossing, which after a year I’m still addicted to.
I hope everyone has a great February. Stay warm and healthy!
