October was a month that included another event, so I knew going in that there were going to be some book costs. My Audible is still on pause, so I saved that payment. I did however notice that my numbers have become really jacked up. I was SO confused. I think I have it conquered now and the right numbers are in play. Only two more months and I’ll sit down to do the yearly and hopefully I’ll have it all together by then. I did remove one of the event fees I had budgeted for and added it down to my book budget. I decided not to attend, although it was a tough decision. This month I was surprised by another Amazon settlement credit. I did not add that to my budget at all, and the books I buy with that credit will not come out of this budget.

Below is the books I hauled this month. We were lucky at the Buns and Roses event and got signed copies of the Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews. I now have multiple copies of Burn for Me so I may have to have a giveaway!

I picked up the Terry Spears books at Buns and Roses since she was there as a signing author. Now I have to get reading her series. And they are LONG. I’m going to have to devote a lot of time to them. I hope they are good. I’m going to have to check out some reviews for those. Buns and Roses was fun. Annie from Booked and Loaded and I went together and sat with Ilona and Gordon Andrews who were our keynote speakers on Adult Literacy. It was so much fun. Those two are incredible. So funny, and have such great stories. I think I could sit and talk with them for hours. It was definitely worth me waiting until midnight for the tickets to their table to go on sale! However, I did forget to tell Annie about the bear tradition and BnR. Every year a certain amount of bears are made in some sort of costume. And sometimes there are special treats in the bears boxes. The bears are a mystery. You can order yours up front which is what I did, or you can take $20 cash to the event and wave it around like a crazy person and hope you get a bear. Unfortunately, I forgot to pass on that information to Annie. I felt horrible until Gordon Andrews pulls out a $20 and buys her a bear! How lucky is that?! I think that makes her bear more special than mine! The Andrews are so generous and kind. They are big, big stars in my eyes. I’m a major fangirl now, as if I wasn’t before!

In other news, the blog may be somewhat quiet for the next month or two. I hope to get at least my reviews up, but will have to see with timing. For some reason, we got it in our heads to buy a house. We’re in the middle of the process now with the house we picked, but the time for packing has begun. Unfortunately it means I will be breaking a lease. Please pray to whatever deity you follow that we are able to help our landlord get this place rented ASAP. I couldn’t afford to pay rent and mortgage. We pick the worst times to do things, but a major opportunity from family happened and it was impossible to pass up. I’m exited, but nervous scared, and tired already! I plan to keep up with comments the best I can so don’t be too worried if it is a day or two before I respond. I will go crazy without all of you to talk to!

In big news, my son has gotten engaged to the sweetest girl ever. It seems kind of surreal to me, but I’m excited for them. I can’t wait to see where their road leads. They still have a wedding to plan so hit up my son’s Etsy store to grab some great tie dye and jewelry. It’s called The Hippie Hideout and he has some amazing work in there. The stones really fascinate me. They are so pretty. So stop by and support my son and his wedding plans!

Ok, I’m freaked out. It is very early here and someone keeps ringing my doorbell. Twice since 6:30am. I don’t answer the door that early and I can’t imagine who would be out there this early. Of course if it was some mass murderer I’m sure they wouldn’t ring the doorbell. Me and my imagination!

Our Halloween was low key. I’m like the Grinch of Halloween because I didn’t pass out candy. With 8 dogs, the doorbell and their barking all night would have driven me insane. Maybe next year when we are in our new place, I’ll come up with a plan for the dogs so I’ll be able to enjoy it more. How was everyone else’s Halloween? Did you go to parties and dress up? Did you post pics on Instagram? If you did make sure you send me your Instagram user so I can make sure I follow you and can check out your costumes!

So that was my exciting October. I hope everyone else had a great one! Remember, posts may be slow in coming but I will be around as much as possible so don’t be shy about leaving comments! I want to hear all about your October and any fun stuff you may have done!
