It’s time for another book tag! I’m scrambling trying to find book tags that are different. A lot of them ask the same questions, just in different ways and I don’t want my answers to be the same in all of them.
This week I picked My Reading Habits. I found this at Bookish and Bright.
My Reading Habits Book Tag
1. DO YOU HAVE A CERTAIN PLACE AT HOME FOR READING?
Right now I normally read in my recliner in the livingroom. Sometimes if I get in bed and can’t fall asleep I will pull my book out.
2. BOOKMARK OR A RANDOM PIECE OF PAPER?
I prefer a book mark, but will use a piece of paper if it’s an emergency. I do keep a stash of bookmarks handy around my reading places so I don’t have to use scraps of paper. I’ve even used little advertising postcards that come in the mail!
3. CAN YOU STOP READING ANYTIME YOU WANT OR DO YOU HAVE TO STOP AT A CERTAIN PAGE, CHAPTER, PART, ECT.?
I have to stop reading at the end of a chapter. Sometimes it’s really hard, especially if the chapter is ending with a cliffhanger of sorts. Stopping in the middle of a chapter feels downright wrong.
4. DO YOU EAT OR DRINK WHILE READING?
Definitely. I love to snack while I read. I always have my water nearby to drink. My favorite reading snacks right now are popcorn and Hershey’s chocolate bars. Sometimes I like to have ripple chips too, but normally I make myself choose the healthier popcorn option.
5. CAN YOU READ WHILE LISTENING TO MUSIC/WATCHING TV?
Music I can block out. Sometimes though the pacing of my reading will match the music which is pretty different. TV is harder. I will get pulled out of my book if I hear something interesting on the tv, but then I have to find where I was again after whatever drew my attention away. I prefer to have silence in the background.
6. ONE BOOK AT A TIME, OR SEVERAL AT ONCE?
I normally have one ebook and one audiobook on the go at any given time. That is the way I prefer it. There have been a couple of times where I’ll have to pause one book so that I can fit in a review book. But I try to keep it to one of each format.
7. READING AT HOME OR EVERYWHERE?
Everywhere! There are so many opportunities you can fit a chapter in during the day. Doctor’s offices, traffic (for audiobooks), anywhere you have to wait in line. That is why taking your e-reader with you everywhere is important.
8. READING OUT LOUD OR SILENTLY IN YOUR HEAD?
Silently in my head. No one wants to know what I’m reading. Plus I don’t want anyone to hear me absolutely BUTCHER some characters names and other words I’m not sure of!
9. DO YOU READ AHEAD OR SKIP PAGES?
No skipping pages. BUT. If I’m preparing to stop reading at the end of the chapter, I may glance at the first page of the next chapter to make that final decision on if I’m going to stop or not. If it is too exciting, I will stay up and read the next chapter. But I don’t peek any further than that.
10. BREAKING THE SPINE OR KEEPING IT NEW?
That spine must be kept new! Isn’t there a law against breaking the spine? No? There should be! Those broken spines look so sad on the shelves. I know it means they were well read, but it is sad to see them like that.
11. DO YOU WRITE IN BOOKS?
WHAT?! NO! That is what post-its and notebooks are for. I would never defile a book in such a way. This should be a book crime as well.
So that is the My Reading Habits Book Tag. I would love to see your answers to the questions! Post and tag me @ReadingAddicted, or just tell me in the comments! You have officially been TAGGED!
