Tell Me Something Tuesday ~ Least Favorite Types of Blog Posts

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post hosted on Rainy Day Ramblings where we discuss a wide range of topics from books to blogging. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog.

What types of posts do you least enjoy on blogs?

This is really tough. I like to give pretty much everything an open mind. The blogs are a part of a person’s personality for the most part so I really can’t say I don’t enjoy them. There is however one type that I’m not fond of. I’m as guilty as any of us of doing it tough.

You want to stay on a publicist’s or assistant’s good side so when it comes time for the ARCs to come out, you’re at the top of the list, but those cookie cutter posts are just overdone. Especially if they give multiple blogs the same date. It is the exact same information over a multitude of the blogs that generally read the same genre. If there is something interesting in them like a giveaway, or each participant is given special information, then its not so bad. But when everything is exactly the same, you are not even going to click on that post because either you did the same post, or you already read it on someone else’s blog. When I do sign up for some of these tours, I try to put in at least a couple of lines of my own thoughts. Most of the time it is like a drop in the bucket, but at least it breaks it up a little.

The only other thing I can think of is bashing posts. Now these I have a love/hate relationship with. One, I’m nosy. Somehow I miss drama going on and if I see a post on it, I know that something happened and I can research it. On the other hand, drama posts can create even more drama and start all out craziness. Blogger against blogger hate posts are a big no no. Even if you think you are being discreet by not mentioning names, everyone knows who you’re talking about (for the most part). You may think you are being cool by dragging someone out and bullying them, but honestly you are just making yourself look bad. We all need to be uplifting each other. If you don’t agree with something someone said, just walk away. What they write is what they think, and they are allowed to think it.

I honestly cannot think of another type of post that I really don’t enjoy. I love reading what other people have to say (whether I agree or not). Is there some type of post I’m forgetting? You all know my memory is pretty short and I sometimes forget things! 🙂

Have a happy Tuesday everyone!
