Waiting on Wednesday is a feature hosted by Breaking The Spine. This is my anticipated book of the week!
In #1 New York Times bestselling author J. R. Ward’s thrilling finale of the Bourbon Kings series, the Bradford family dynasty teeters on the edge of collapse after the murder of their patriarch—and a shocking arrest.
At first, the death of William Baldwine, the head of the Bradford family, was ruled a suicide. But then his eldest son and sworn enemy, Edward, came forward and confessed to what was, in fact, a murder. Now in police custody, Edward mourns not the disintegration of his family or his loss of freedom . . . but the woman he left behind. His love, Sutton Smythe, is the only person he has ever truly cared about, but as she is the CEO of the Bradford Bourbon Company’s biggest competitor, any relationship between them is impossible. And then there’s the reality of the jail time that Edward is facing.
Lane Baldwine was supposed to remain in his role of playboy, forever in his big brother Edward’s shadow. Instead he has become the new head of the family and the company. Convinced that Edward is covering for someone else, Lane and his true love, Lizzie King, go on the trail of a killer—only to discover a secret that is as devastating as it is game-changing.
As Lane rushes to discover the truth, and Sutton finds herself irresistibly drawn to Edward in spite of his circumstances, the lives of everyone at Easterly will never be the same again. For some, this is good; for others, it could be a tragedy beyond imagining. Only one thing’s for certain: Love survives all things. Even murder.
After the Angels’ Share ending, I am dying to know what is going to happen with the members of the Baldwine family. With Lane trying to run the business and the stuff that is happening with Edward I feel like I’m on a train heading for destruction! I’m kind of hoping we get some more romance going on with Edward and Sutton. A relationship between those two is going to be difficult and it is going to be interesting to see if the conquer it or not.
This series is filled with intrigue and mystery. J.R. Ward did an amazing job putting the story of the Baldwine’s all together. I can’t wait for this release! A lot is going to happen in this book considering it is the last in the trilogy!
Devil’s Cut will be released August 1, 2017 and I think it is going to be a hit on the bestseller charts. J.R. Ward has a huge following just with her name on a book, but I think a lot of people who don’t read her paranormal love this trilogy. That is going to make for some mega sales. Also, in case you haven’t noticed, B&N and Booksamillion.com are selling signed hard cover copies of Devil’s Cut. You know me and my signed books. I will no doubt be buying both the ebook and the hard cover. Since Ward does not travel much, these virtual signings are about the only chance I will get a signed book from her. It’s a problem for my budget, but it cannot be helped. Besides these stores selling signed copies, the Warden herself will be holding a Virtual Signing. The signing will be on June 30th, 2017, and they will be releasing the link on her FB page on that date for you to go buy. I’m kind of puzzled as to why they are not going to use her usual wardenvs.com link for it. They might still, I guess we’ll just have to wait to find out. I hate waiting until the last minute for the link because I’m always scared they will sell out before I get there. You can believe I will have the FB page open from midnight on so I don’t miss them posting the link! Don’t miss it, be prepared!
