My favorites will either be a specific book, or a whole series. Most of the series I have read haven’t changed out narrators, so they tend to be pretty consistent. Click the titles to be directed to their home on some audiobook sites.
First on my list is Styxx. Written by Sherrilyn Kenyon and narrated by Fred Berman. It’s a long one, 31 hours, but it was so worth it! The story is very gut-wrenching and Mr. Berman really makes you feel the pain and suffering of Styxx. Sometimes, it was completely overwhelming but very, very powerful. You can see my review here.
Second on my list is Heart of Venom by Jennifer Estep and narrated by Lauren Fontgang. I have read all of the Elemental Assassin series on kindle, but this was the first time I listened to one, and I was blown away by the narration. I was worried that by listening so far into the series, that the narration wouldn’t match the voice in my head, but Ms. Fontgang outdid it. My review is here.
Last, but is actually the top of my list, is the Charley Davidson series written by Darynda Jones and narrated by Lorelei King. I have listened to this whole series and my love grows with each installment. Awesomeness at it’s most awesome. The characters are so unique and have such great personalities and Ms. King puts a little bit of something in each one. Truly great work. Check out my reviews on all of them here at the blog.
