NASCAR driver Logan Perrish returns to Lucky Harbor, Washington, with love in his heart and a ring in his pocket. But can Sandy Jansen forget the past and give him a second chance? Or will Logan be spending another Christmas alone?
This novella was included in the Christmas In Lucky Harbor combination book that included Simply Irresistible, Sweetest Thing, Kissing Santa Claus and Under the Mistletoe, all by Jill Shalvis. This mega book is on sale at Amazon for $2.00 so make sure to pick it up to get them all in one.
I am going to try and do this review without spoilers for those that did not read book 2. If you didn’t read book 2, you should, because it was good. I know that sometimes novellas sneak up on you out of order, so I thought I should give this warning.
Logan returns to Lucky Harbor after having a quick fling with Sandy in the summer. Sandy has been heartbroken without him. She didn’t realize she would end up caring for him and when he left, she was crushed. When he returns, she is still angry at him leaving and now he must work to earn back the feelings that Sandy had for him.
Frankly, I did not like Logan, and did not think he deserved any kind of HEA. In book 2 he irritated the hell out of me, and I was surprised he got his own little novella. Once he was gone, I thought he should just stay gone.
Sandy, for someone who has so many responsibilities and makes so many decisions in her professional life, she seemed kind of whiny and needy with her personal life. She is angry, but I felt like she really should have given him a harder time when he came back all begging for forgiveness.
So, I really wasn’t thrilled with this novella. I should have known going in since I did not like Logan to start with, but I forged ahead anyway. If you are a fan of this series, then yeah, you probably want to include this, because who wants to leave a series with loose ends!
