Book Blogger New Years Challenge Day 2
My Pros & Cons of Blogging
Pros:
- Blogging is a release. I am pretty much the only heavy reader in my family, and until recently, I didn’t belong to any book clubs. Blogging gave me the opportunity to spout all my excitement and disappointments in the books I read.
- The blogging community. It is so nice to meet people who have the same passion in books that I have! Even better, I’ve met a lot of people who have the same tastes in books that I do!
- Learning new things. I’ve been learning all sorts of things about CSS, graphics, SEO, and all kinds of social media things. Now just to have more time to explore these new super powers!
Cons:
- Balancing reading. I find I can get carried away in blog work as much as I can reading. It is very hard for me to make sure I get something out on the blog AND get some reading in.
- Coming up with good content. It is hard work! To make matters worse I find that I get a lot of conflicting emotions when writing reviews, so I can seem kind of wishy washy.
- To review or not to review. I stress BAD about writing bad reviews. I probably should just cap it and not write reviews for anything under a certain star count, but then I feel like the time was wasted. I may have not liked something, but I’m sure that despite it not being for me, I can point out some good things that another person will like. Oh, the dilemma!
I had a hard time coming up with the cons. My main one was definitely trying to find a balance between blogging and reading. If I don’t get the books read, I can’t review them, which in turn means no content. But if I could just figure out how to make my widget do… See what I mean? Maybe some ADD meds would help! 😉
