This week we are going to do a book tag on the books that have really touched us. Both in good and bad days. This one appears to be a quick one. Let’s hope I don’t get long-winded!
- Which book most recently did you not finish?
I am totally anal about finishing a book I start. On my DNF shelf at Goodreads there are a total of 4 books. The most recent one of those is from last year. It was Burned by Karen Marie Moning. I was reading it when all the stuff about her narrator came out. Her responses pissed me off, so I stopped reading the book. I’m probably going to go back to it though. I’m dying to know what happens!
- Which book is your guilty pleasure?
Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series and Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld. I kind of feel like they go hand in hand. But they are like chocolate to me!
- Which book do you love to hate?
Twilight. I say this for many reasons. When it was big, I felt pressured into reading it by just about everyone I knew, despite me clearly stating I do not read young adult. I didn’t read it just to be a rebel. Then the movies came out with Kristen Stewart who I really don’t like. She certainly didn’t help the book’s case with me. I really shouldn’t have an opinion one way or the other since I didn’t read it, but I just enjoy saying I don’t like it because of all those people who put the pressure on me! I even own the books. One day maybe I’ll actually read them and decide that I don’t really hate them. I don’t do well with peer pressure. I can’t believe it turned me into a book hater!
- Which book would you throw into the sea?
I have a couple of reasons on this one. The author leaked a big spoiler on social media before I finished. Then I was torn on whether to actually continue the book, and I felt dread the whole rest of the read. Just as I feared, the book turned me into a blubbering mess. I was pissed. I hated how it ended. If there had of been a sea close to me at the time, I would have chucked that bugger right into it.
- Which book have you read the most?
When I first started reading series that I would have to wait a whole year for the next installment, I would reread the previous books. This was during a small window of time as I am not a fast reader and I spent most of my time rereading books. But, I ended up reading this one more than twice and that’s a lot for me! Which is also only $2.99 as of this writing!
- Which book would you hate to receive as a present?
I’m going to say a whole genre here. I would not like to get ANY non-fiction books as gifts. If the person knows me, they know I will not likely read them. Also, when a person gives someone else a non-fiction book as a gift, it is kind of like them giving advice. Unless it is a topic the giftee has mentioned reading about before.
- Which book could you not live without?
How could anyone not melt and just feel warm all over by The Beast by J.R. Ward? It was satisfying for Rhage to get his HEA in Lover Eternal, but it was just icing on the cake to see his life in The Beast!
- Which book made you the angriest?
This would be Eighth Grave After Dark by Darynda Jones. I was SO pissed at the end of that book! I believe I had a yelling match with the audiobook in my car that day. I even had to jump onto a PM with the bestie to rant about it once my voice was hoarse from yelling at the audiobook.
- Which book made you cry the most?
- Which book cover do you hate the most?
I’m not a really big fan of the Bourbon Kings series covers by J.R. Ward. (I do enjoy the stories themselves!) I especially dislike the cover for Angel’s Share. I don’t feel like I’m looking at a book cover, it feels like I’m looking at a painting in a museum. That may be the intent, but it doesn’t entice me to read the book.
That one wasn’t too bad. Nice and quick so all you readers who I am TAGGING right now, can answer these questions! What did you all think?
