Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post hosted on Rainy Day Ramblings where we discuss a wide range of topics from books to blogging. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog.
This week’s topic:
What are my favorite vampire books?
So, I thought the ghost favorites was going to be hard. Mainly because I haven’t read many books where ghosts were prominent characters. Vampires on the other hand are in almost every book I’ve read! How am I going to pick just a few to keep this post from turning into a novel?! Let’s see if I can keep the number down to at least five.
You can’t talk about vampires without including the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward. They are not the typical vampire that slinks in the night killing its victims. They are pure awesomeness!

Cat & Bones in the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost are just the best vampire couple! They are total badasses!

There is the Chicagoland Vampire series by Chloe Neill with another kickass couple, Merit & Ethan. Vampire politics, great action with a lot of romantic tension.

Another great vampire series is the Jane Jameson series by Molly Harper. I found this series after listening to her werewolf one and I really enjoyed it.

And we can’t forget Eric & Bill. The Sookie Stackhouse has some of my favorite vampire characters.

So I wanted to include the Midnight Breed by Lara Adrian & the Dark Hunters by Sherrilyn Kenyon. First, the Dark Hunters had WAY too many books in the series and I didn’t know which ones were actually considered Dark Hunter or Were Hunter or Dream Hunter or whatever. Second, when I think about the Midnight Breed, I wonder if they can actually be considered vampires, since their fathers were actually aliens. Doesn’t that just make them aliens that drink blood? Would anything that drinks blood really be considered a “vampire”? It was unclear to me, so I am just giving them an honorable mention!
I know there are a few I’m leaving out (ahem, Jean Claude), but these are at the top of my list.
Do you have a favorite vampire book or series? I’m sure I’ve left out tons since they are so popular. I love to find new ones though!
