Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because The Broke and the Bookish are particularly fond of lists. We’d love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Each week we will post a new Top Ten list  that one of our bloggers at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It’s a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

Topic for April 1, 2014 is Top Ten “Gateway” Books/Authors In My Reading Journey (so your list could be a mix of a books that got you into reading, an author that got you into reading a genre you never thought you’d read, a book that brought you BACK into read)

I have loved reading for a long, long time. I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t reading something. I do have authors that sometimes pulled me into different genres. I don’t know if I can come up with 10 though. Let’s see what we can come up with, let’s start at the beginning of my reading days.

  1. Carolyn Keene for Nancy Drew
  2. Francine Pascal for Sweet Valley High
  3. V.C. Andrews (all of hers for years and years)
  4. Sidney Sheldon
  5. Karin Slaughter
  6. Kim Harrison
  7. Janet Evanovich
  8. Kelley Armstrong
  9. Laurell K Hamilton
  10. There are a few romance authors in here now, Laura Kaye and Lori Foster

I bounced around in a few genres for awhile, but I’m pretty much urban fantasy and paranormal for now.

Who are your top ten gateway authors?
