The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Happy Sunday all! Well as happy as a Sunday can be. My Sunday’s always have that crazy feeling of having to get everything done before the beginning of the week. Plus, we had such beautiful weather yesterday. And by beautiful, I mean short weather. Right now I am looking out my window at freezing rain. It is disgusting.

So, last week was going really well for me with my book buying ban. I have to add “was” because I totally screwed up Friday night. I got an email from Book Outlet that something in my wishlist was on sale. I hit their website as fast as my browser and slow wireless would let me. I have the whole Charley Davidson series in paperback, but I want their hard cover. I LOVE hard cover. Plus, she’s going to be at RT, so I can get them signed. Book Outlet had the hard covers for book 1 & 2 on for $1.99! Where on earth can you get hard covers for $1.99? If you know, please keep it to yourself until I’m done with this stupid book buying ban. So, it happens that while I’m on the website I find a couple of other goodies, and figure, what the hell, might as well grab them too. My family doesn’t think there is going to be room in the car for them on the way to NOLA. I checked though, and I’m really not dragging THAT many books with me. I have a lot of signed copies already. Well, after this little bump in the road, I now have 5 new books and yes, they are all previously read, only-buying-for-collection.

As a side note, Perfect Blood by Kim Harrison is only $1.99 on Kindle right now. Just click the image and it will take you straight over to Amazon. I don’t know how I missed this one, I have the rest in hard cover but when I was updating my library I saw I was missing one.

My family, the ones who are complaining about me taking so many books to NOLA, actually convinced me to stop into a used book store yesterday (oh that was SO hard). The worst place in the world for someone on a book buying ban is a used book store, especially a “new to me” one. Of course I did what any crazy book lover did. I bought books. But I got to have this great conversation with the owner about RT. She told me that the year she opened her store, the convention was in Dallas. Unfortunately she didn’t get to go then because of the store. I told her that next year it was coming again and she said she really hoped she’d get to go. It was a great little store who obviously catered to romance. A whole room in fact. I will definitely have to visit again.

With all this temptation and absolute failures, I have decided to just quit the whole book buying ban. I think I’m going to follow in Felicia’s footsteps over at Geeky Bloggers Book Blog. She allows herself a budget instead of an all out ban. Since I only started tracking my books in Quicken this year, I’m going to have to use some averages. I truly think this will work better.

Last week on the blog we featured:

On the blog, I did some revamping of my home page. This ended up being more of an undertaking than I thought it was going to be. I am completely open to any suggestions on improving the visual appeal to the page. I don’t want my post pages to change, but I’m not sure I’m completely happy with the way it looks now. Also, I’ve been searching for the best way to make changes to the blog itself. After this week of flying by the seat of my pants with making the changes, I thought maybe it would be best if I look at either making a child theme or actually downloading to my computer and making my changes there before putting the files back up on the server. How do you experiment with changes on your blog? I would love suggestions and any links to how-to’s you can provide!

How was everyone else’s week? Get some good reading in?
