What are my spring 2016 picks?

In the craziness of my life the past few months, the list of books I’ve been looking forward to has been lost in the list of review books. I have lost track of some of the goodies I at one time would have remembered to have pre-ordered. Let’s see if I can determine which of the releases I’ve been looking forward to for ages that haven’t been released already. I’m also trying to figure out what constitutes “spring”. I say this because June is like THE release month for me. I am thinking I should consider June summer otherwise this is going to be one hell of a long list.

Kim Harrison
Release Date: 04/04/16

Worlds collide when Rachel Morgan of The Hollows meets Peri Reed of The Drafter in this exciting new short story from #1 New York Times bestselling author Kim Harrison.

The paranormal and the futuristic meet in this thrilling novella featuring your favorite badass heroines from two of “the amazingly gifted” (RT Book Reviews) Kim Harrison’s most beloved series: the Hollows and the Peri Reed Chronicles. The magic of the Hollows runs full force into the technological sophistication of The Drafter when a device capable of carrying a city’s data stream pulls Rachel, the bounty hunter witch of the Hollows, between realities, marooning her in a world where the supernatural holds no sway. To get Rachel and Jenks home, Peri, the dangerous renegade of 2030, must decide what will chart her future: her blind trust in those who grant her power, or her intuition telling her to believe.

undoingThe Undoing
Shelly Laurenston
Release Date: 03/29/16

A risk worth taking…

No one would ever accuse Jace Berisha of having an easy life—considering her husband…you know…killed her. But that was then! Now she fights for mighty Viking gods with the spectacular and vicious Crows.

But things are turning very bad, very quickly because a vengeful, ancient goddess has come into the world with just one thing on her mind—ending it. And the only way they can hope to stop her is if the Crows join forces with their one-time enemies, the Protectors. A Viking Clan created to do nothing but kill every Crow they see.

Thankfully, Protector Ski Eriksen is a peace loving kind of guy. Because the woman he is desperately trying to get close to is the beautiful and not-very-chatty Jace. Battling Nordic clans? Unkillable goddesses? Jace’s mean-spirited dog? None of these things would ever get in the way of a true Viking!

These are the main releases that are on my “must have” list. There are a few novellas that I’m excited to read, and a few review books that I’m in quite interested in. As I said, June is going to be a HUGE month, so I’m considering joining Caffeinated Book Reviews’s Clean Sweep ARC Challenge in May to get most of my review books out of the way so I can enjoy those new releases right away.

What books are on your list to jump on this spring? I’m really curious to see which ones I’m missing off my list!

  • The Undoing is on my list too. I knew that Kim Harrison had that book coming out, but I guess I didn’t realize it was coming out so soon. I’m really excited for Shadowed Blade by J.C. Daniels, Divine Descendant by Jenna Black and Bright Blaze of Magic by Jennifer Estep.

    • I haven’t tried the new Jennifer Estep series yet. I have no idea why. Some kind of weird intervention I think. I will have to look up your other two!

  • Nightshift and The Undoing are both on my list 🙂

    • I’m getting into the Midnight, Texas series more and more. The characters and the town are pulling me in. Everything is being revealed in such small bits to keep you guessing about who can really do what.

  • I have been watching for Nightshift as I want to finish the series, I also want Waylaid. I just saw that Grant book up on Netgalley. I should grab it. Some great picks, Tanya.

    • Thank you! Thank you! I’ve been waiting for it to hit Netgalley as a whole book. I’m not big on reading them when she puts them up in parts.

  • I’m hesitant on Waylaid, I don’t know how well those two worlds will mesh. I’ll be interested to see it though.
