Pleasure is their ultimate weapon . . .

Runa Wagner never meant to fall in love with the sexy stranger who seemed to know her every deepest desire. But she couldn't resist the unbelievable passion that burned between them, a passion that died when she discovered his betrayal and found herself forever changed. Now, determined to make Shade pay for the transformation that haunts her, Runa searches for him, only to be taken prisoner by his darkest enemy.

A Seminus Demon with a love-curse that threatens him with eternal torment, Shade hoped he'd seen the last of Runa and her irresistible charm. But when he wakes up in a dank dungeon chained next to an enraged and mysteriously powerful Runa, he realizes that her effect on him is more dangerous than ever. As their captor casts a spell that bonds them as lifemates, Shade and Runa must fight for their lives and their hearts-or succumb to a madman's evil plans.

If the way this series is going continues, it’s going to be one of those that gets better and better as we go in and know these characters. If we did not have the background we do on Shade from Pleasure Unbound, I could have easily put him in the evil, asshole demon column. He really pulled some giant asshole stunts and they are coming back to catch him now. It seems like his crimes just keep piling up. At first, I didn’t consider the love curse that big of a deal, because I couldn’t see Runa getting past his past. I was kind of surprised at how things turned around in the dungeon. If I was Runa, I would be taking a chunk out of Shade’s ass. Especially now that’s she’s able to! When the bad guy pulls one over on them and mates them to each other, you just know it is going to go downhill from there.

I love each brother more every time we see him. The hits Shade takes to break down his walls against Runa, with that damn curse hanging over his head, frustrated me. Not just because of what his persistence did to him, but how he acted toward Runa in trying to keep that distance. He really let his asshole side show sometimes!

This book is full of surprises and just when you think you know something, you’re whacked up side of the head. The bad guy was a huge surprise, and was really freaky. I am so scared I’m going to spoil, I don’t know how to describe the resolution to his evil plans. Just know it was great!

Desire Unchained was really good. The world that is building and the story arc is coming together so nicely. We don’t completely lose characters when the story is done and we even see the setup for the future stories. I can say, this story and the narrator, Hillary Huber, were perfectly matched. Hillary pulled me into the story so quickly and completely I didn’t even have that initial period where I have to adjust to the voice. I was nervous about this since she did not narrate Pleasure Unbound, but I have no complaints about the change at all. It worked out great.

I’m getting sucked into the world of Underground General and I can’t wait for Wraith’s story!

  • She is hands down one of my favorite authors 🙂

    • I am seriously shaking my head that it took this long to read her books. Now I can’t get enough! Library read has me taking a break, but I was over at Audible this morning getting the next one downloaded!
