In book eleven of her New York Times bestselling Elemental Assassin series, author Jennifer Estep continues “one of the best urban fantasy series going on the market” (Fresh Fiction).

Gin Blanco is hard-nosed, sexy, and lethal. Nicknamed “The Spider,” she’s a stone elemental assassin who brings her unique mix of magic and tact to every assignment, no matter the target.

There’s a new drug on the streets of Ashland, and its name “Burn” sums up the potent effect it has on its users. When one of her restaurant employees is threatened by dealers of the drug, Gin steps in to set things straight…

Now that we have gone back and been shown some of the experiences that have shaped the Spider, it is time to move onto the new bad guys. This blurb does not mention M.M. Munro nor does it mention the rest of our cast of characters, but I’m sure we see plenty of them as the group helps each other out. This installment releases July 22, 2014 and is #11 in the series, so if you haven’t gotten to them yet, you’ve got sometime before this newest release!

  • I love this series (I’ve read through book 8), and I’m pretty sure that the POV of Kiss of Venom (8.5) is indicative that what I want to happen, is gonna happen, but I haven’t worked myself up to reading it yet. I probably will before this one comes out, but I’m SO FRIGGIN’ SCARED that it’s not going to work out with youknowwhoimean! Gah. Book 7 just about killed me . . .

That stuff with youknowwhoimean is driving me nuts. That storyline or relationship is so slow moving it is making me grit my teeth. The action really pulls me through it though. I am hoping we find out more about M.M. Munro!

I sooo need to catch up with this series. Great pick.

It is so hard to keep up with all the series, but this is definitely one I keep up with. Love Gin & the gang.

  • Oh boy! Another series that I need to catch up with..LOL I know everyone love this one too, I don’t know why I didn’t go after the second book when I finish the firs…Too many audiobooks!..LOL

    • Tanya Davis

I’ve switched to audio on this one, just because the narrator is so good. I hear ya, I am at a “what to start next” slump right now. I shut down and just flip through the list of stuff I’ve downloaded but have yet to read without selecting anything. There are just so MANY of them! LOL

  • *Sigh* I need to get onto this series! The books sound so good!

  • I love this series and I literally can’t wait for the next book. I am up for a new bad guy.

  • Melanie Simmons

I can’t wait for this book, but I have to admit, I’m behind. I have not read The Spider yet. I think because it is mostly, if not all, back story, it just hasn’t grabbed my attention yet. I will get to it before this comes out.

The Spider was pretty good, although I was like you at first and wasn’t thrilled about a whole installment from the past. But some of the paths that crossed were really fun to see. Plus, you see a newbie, full of herself Spider too.
